Josh Braswell is a documentary/reportage photographer based in Shelby, NC. He shoots a wide range of subject matter in a candid and observational style, with an emphasis on documenting his home state of North Carolina.

Hello! I’m Josh Braswell. The focus of my photography is on the wonderful people, places, and things in my home state of North Carolina. I love capturing life as it unfolds in front of me. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph many wonderful folks through my recent NC MAKERS project, which is open through April of 2026 at the Gaston County Museum of Art & History.
